This policy explains the cookies and similar storage technologies used on pioneerunion.com, and what control you have over them. It should be read with our Privacy Policy.
1. What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to store. Related technologies — localStorage and sessionStorage — store data in your browser in a similar way but are not sent back to the server with every request. We refer to all of these as "cookies" in this policy.
2. Our approach
This is a static institutional website. It has no user accounts, no shopping basket, no advertising, and no cross-site tracking. We therefore keep cookie use to the minimum that lets the Site work and stay secure.
We do not use cookies for advertising, we do not permit third-party advertising networks on this Site, and we do not sell or share the data cookies generate. We use no analytics or tracking cookies, so no consent banner is needed.
3. What we use
Strictly necessary — always active. These are required to deliver and secure the Site. They cannot be switched off from within the Site, because without them the Site cannot be served.

4. Third-party content
This site loads web fonts from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com / fonts.gstatic.com) and the interactive world-map libraries (D3 and TopoJSON) and map data from public CDNs (unpkg / jsdelivr). These requests are made by your browser to render the page; they set no cookies and are not used for analytics or tracking. The only client-side storage is a localStorage entry (pnu-lang) remembering your language choice — strictly necessary, not tracking.
We do not embed third-party video players, social media widgets or advertising networks that set cookies. Where such an embed is added in future, it will be listed above and — if it sets non-essential cookies — placed behind consent, so that nothing loads until you agree.
5. Your controls
- Language preference: clear it by clearing site data for pioneerunion.com in your browser settings, or by using the language toggle again.
- All cookies: every major browser lets you block or delete cookies, in Settings → Privacy. Your browser's help pages explain how.
- Do Not Track / Global Privacy Control: we do not run tracking that these signals would change, so there is nothing for us to suppress. We will honour them if that ever changes.
Blocking the strictly necessary cookies above may cause Cloudflare to challenge or block your requests, and parts of the Site may not load.
6. Changes
Cookie inventories drift as sites change. We review this page whenever we change the Site's front-end and at least once a year. The effective date at the head of the page shows the last review.
